What is Mt. Haguro?
Mt. Haguro is a mountain in Yamagata prefecture with an altitude of about 400m.
It has been used for training of trainees for a long time, so if you look at the official website, you will see "Training informationThere is also a strange keyword.
The five-storied pagoda, a national treasure, is famous, but the attraction I felt was along the way.

At first, I had only the knowledge that "the five-storied pagoda seems to be famous", but I was surprised when I arrived.

I walked to the top of the mountain for about XNUMX hour and XNUMX minutes, but I was able to enjoy the walk while thinking that there might be some benefit.

Then, I will show you the recommended points along the way.
Zuijinmon(Zuishinmon)
First is the entrance. From here onward is the sanctuary (where the god resides).

The river is flowing and there is a beautiful bridge.
Obviously, the photo is not processed.
Seen live, it's more divine than the photo.
The stone steps are 2446 steps, second in Japan
It seems that there are 2446 steps, but I didn't get tired so much because I enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
By the way, the number one stone staircase in Japan is 3333 steps in Kumamoto prefecture.
There are many end shrines (shrines attached to the head office) along the way.
It was pretty well maintained.
Suga Waterfall
It is an artificial waterfall drawn from a water source XNUMX km away in the Edo period.
Light and shadow contrast
It's the first time I've seen such a divine spider web.
At first, I didn't know it was a spider's nest, and I was surprised that something was floating!
It is beautiful no matter where you cut it.
This is where God lives.
National treasure five-storied pagoda
It is said that Taira no Masakado was built at the end of the game.Five-storied pagoda, a national treasure.
It is the oldest tower in the Tohoku region and was rebuilt around 1500.
It seems that the lights are lit up at night for a limited time, so I would like to see the timing again.
Mountain peak
If you can see this torii, the mountaintop is a little more.
There are also fine shrines and places to take a break, so you can take a rest.
There is a bus from the top of the mountain so let's use it on the way back.
Appeared on the back road
Mt. Haguro also appears in the back alley, so there is a statue of Basho Matsuo, the author.
As a phrase that I wrote in Mt. Haguro, "Coolness and Mt. Haguro for only three months" is famous.
Required Time
From Zuijinmon to the summitIt takes about 90 minutes to go slowly.
If you go without a break, you can go in about 60 minutes.
Access
It takes about 40 minutes by bus from the nearest "Tsuruoka Station".
You can go to the top of the mountain by bus as it is, but "Hagurozuijinmon(Haguro Zuishinmon) ”is recommended to get off and climb.
The bus leaves around 6:00 in the morning, so be sure to visit first thing in the morning. (Be careful about heat stroke)
Please note that you cannot climb in winter due to snow.

Finally
Mt. Haguro was a much more beautiful mountain than I had imagined.
Please visit on a sunny day.
When it rains, evacuate to the Kamo Aquarium in the same city of Tsuruoka.
Tourist information around
Kamo Aquarium
In Tsuruoka City, there is the Kamo Aquarium, which is famous for jellyfish.
We are proud of the number of types of jellyfish in the world, and you can enjoy ramen using real jellyfish and sashimi of jellyfish.
By the way, please be careful not to get on the wrong bus.
When I visited, the departure was from the same stop as the bus to Mt. Haguro, so foreigners who wanted to go to Mt. Haguro were surprised to arrive at the aquarium.
Of course, if you tell him that you can eat jellyfish here, it goes without saying that he was sucked into the aquarium.
