What is Shiroyone Senmaida?

Shiroyone Senmaida is a tourist destination located in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture.

As the name suggests, there are nearly 1000 rice fields along the sea, and you can enjoy the scenery that is unique to this area.

Former Prime Minister Koizumi will introduce Shiroyone Senmaida, who praised it as "a superb view, a superb view."

It's hard to see from a distance, but each one is a small rice field, and rice is actually made.

The old-fashioned farming method has been internationally recognized and has been selected as a "Globally Important Agricultural Heritage" certified by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Compared to UNESCO's "World Heritage", it feels sober, but it is a rare spot with only 11 places in Japan.

You can become an owner for 2 yen

If you pay an annual membership fee of 2 yen, you can become a rice field owner even if you are an individual.

As a privilege, you can get 10 kg of rice and your name will be listed in the rice field.

Celebrities are also the owners, and there are names such as Koizumi parent and child who praised "superb view" and Go Nagai, a manga artist from Wajima.

As an aside, there is also a memorial hall for Go Nagai in Wajima City, so if you like manga, stop by.

Illuminated from autumn to winter

From autumn to winter, it will be lit up at an event called "Aze no Kirameki".

The period is usually from 10:3 to 17:00 from mid-October to mid-March.

At the nearby shop, you can eat the rice caught in this rice terrace.

There is a fairly large eat-in space.

The price of rice balls is about 180 yen, which is a reasonable price for sightseeing spots.

But unfortunately, the time I went was sold out.

I heard that it takes about 30 minutes to cook rice, so I'm patient with sweets.

By the way, the yellow object on the soft serve ice cream is usually delicious at the famous "Egara Manju" in Wajima City.

However, please note that the shop is only open from 8:30 to 17:30.

Access is messy because it is located at the tip of the Noto Peninsula.

Public transportation is strict, so rent a car if possible.
