"Yakuza-go" is a bus tour that goes around Yakushima.

There are two courses, "AM" and "PM", and you can go sightseeing in different places.

This is a very well thought out bus tour, and you can fully enjoy the charm of Yakushima by taking the morning and afternoon courses.

This time, we will introduce the "Yakuza-go" that you should definitely use when you come to Yakushima.

Morning course

In the morning, it is a course that goes around the coast of the island.

Boarding locations are Miyanoura, Koseta, Mugio, Onoaida, and Abo, and the area where the hotel is located is covered. (Recommended because those who stayed in the Abo area can oversleep in the morning)

Chihiro Waterfall

The first place to visit is Senpiro Falls, which has a height of 60 meters.

The monolith on the left is a natural product, and the name of the waterfall comes from the analogy that it is as big as "Spirited Away".

Personally, it is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Japan, but because of the artificial objects at the mouth of the river, it is not selected as one of the "XNUMX Best Waterfalls in Japan".

Somehow, it's a waste.

Nakama Banyan

"Gajumaru" is a plant that grows naturally on Yakushima and Okinawa.

This middle gajumaru is said to be 300 years old, but it has grown too much and looks like a gate.

When it became the location of the NHK morning drama "Manten" in 2002, tourists did not stop. (A girl from Yakushima is the main character in the drama)

Looking closer, it has a shiny epidermis.

Banyan trees are also called "strangler figs" because they have a very strong vitality and can wrap around other trees and kill them.

Ooko Waterfall

You may think "Is it a waterfall again?", But Yakushima has a lot of waterfalls because it rains so much that it is said that it rains XNUMX days a month.

On Yakushima, hydroelectric power is generated from its abundant water sources to generate all the electricity for the island.

Ohko Waterfall has the largest head (88m) among the many waterfalls on Yakushima, and has been selected as one of the "XNUMX Best Waterfalls in Japan".

Since you can go to the immediate vicinity of the waterfall, you can enjoy it differently from the first Senpiro Falls.

Western forest road

The Seibu-Rindo on the west side of the island is a protected area that is part of a World Heritage Site.

If you are lucky, you may also encounter wild animals.

When I went, there were monkeys and deer all over the place.

Many animals run away when the bus approaches, but some monkeys remain relaxed.

It's so alert that you can't think of it as a wild animal.

This deer was relieved that he didn't forget his wild heart.

The monkeys and deer on Yakushima were smaller than the animals on Honshu.

It is said that it has evolved for energy saving because the living environment is limited and there are no natural enemies.

Nagata Inakahama

It is "Nagata Inakahama" which is famous as a spawning ground for sea turtles.

You can't see sea turtles even if you come in the daytime, but you can see the beautiful sandy beach.

It is one of the coasts protected by the Ramsar Convention (a global treaty that protects waterfowl and wetlands).

Sea turtles come to spawn every May-August night.

If you want to see the spawning scene, you need to take a night tour run by the local management union. (Participation fee about 2000 yen)

Afternoon course

In the afternoon, we will look around Yakusugi.

The boarding place is the hometown marketYakushima Airport・ It is Anbo Port.

You can also board from the airport, so it may be just right for those who arrive at Yakushima in the afternoon.

Yakusugi Land

The first place to visit is Yakusugi Land, which is open to the public for natural forest recreation areas.

There are 30 courses from 210 minutes to 5 minutes, and you can take a walk according to your time and physical strength.

In the case of a tour, it will be a 50-minute course.
(Please note that the course of 80 minutes or more will be a mountain trail with unpaved feet)

Sugi, which is over 1000 years old, is roaring in Yakusugi Land.

You can fully enjoy Yakusugi without having to spend hours trekking.

It is also a good impression that there are few customers and it is quiet.　

The course is also under the cedar.

In English notation "kugurisugi It says "cedar", but I love the feeling of giving up on translation and pushing it.

Since cedar means "sugi", the literal translation is "sugi too much".

Kigensugi

Next (or last) is Kigensugi, which is the largest in the range that can be reached by car.

The height is about 20m, and the estimated age of the tree is 3000 years.

You can see it very close, so you can see the size well.

To be honest, Kigensugi, which can be reached by car, was more powerful than Jomon cedar, which is 5 hours walk from the mountain.
(Jomon cedar can only be seen from a great distance & there are too many people, so it was not a place to enjoy)

This is the end of the afternoon course.

On the way back, you should be able to drop off at your favorite place in the area where the hotel is located.
