What is New Chitose Airport?
New Chitose Airport is the largest airport in Hokkaido.
The level of restaurants is high, and there are plenty of spots that you can enjoy for free, making it an airport that can be called a "sightseeing spot."
This time, we will introduce the gourmet foods and facilities that are especially recommended in the airport.
Recommended souvenirs
The first is the recommended souvenirs you can buy at the airport.
I buy sweets every time I travel, and the ranking is chosen based on my own judgment and prejudice.
(Because I am a Kansai person, I basically like sweets that make the best use of the taste of the ingredients.)
I decided only on the taste and portability at room temperature.
XNUMXst place: THENOIR
Famous for cheesecakeLeTAOIt is a chocolate cookie sold by.
The chocolate and Darjeeling (a type of black tea) go great together, and the taste and aroma are perfect.
Affordable price of about 10 yen for 800 small packages. The expiration date is about one month.
You can buy it at the LeTAO store (Domestic Terminal Building 2F), and you can also find it at a large souvenir shop.
It's a little expensive, but you can buy it online.
See "Tenoir LeTAO" at Rakuten Ichiba
(Amazon was omitted because there were only strange vendors)
Second place: Red silo
KiyotsukiIt is a cheesecake sold by.
We are particular about the ingredients from Hokkaido, and you can enjoy the rich taste.
It costs about 5 yen for 800 small packages. The expiration date is 2 weeks.
It's nice that it's OK at room temperature below 25 ℃.
It is available at the following 2 stores. (All stores are on the XNUMXnd floor of the domestic terminal building)
- Inside New Chitose Airport: Sapporo Tokyu Department Store
- Inside New Chitose Airport: Kita Kitchen
- Inside New Chitose Airport: BLUE SKY
- Inside New Chitose Airport: Sky Shop Ogasawara
Mail order can only be purchased on Kiyotsuki's official website. (Although it is also available on Amazon, it is not recommended because it is more than double the list price)
See "Red Silo" on Seigetsu's official website
XNUMXrd place: Kibana
Tsuboya SohontenThe cookies sold by are addictive to the almond flavor and crispness.
With the Monde Selection, you might think of a land mine, but don't worry, this cookie is delicious. (Mondo is a mark of "I control quality", so it has nothing to do with deliciousness)
There are normal size and small size (Petimo), but the taste is similar.
For Petimo, it costs 8 yen for 700 small packages. The expiration date is about 2 months.
Most large souvenir shops have them.
See "Kihana Tsuboya Sohonten" at Rakuten Ichiba
Other recommended souvenirs
- LeTAO's "Ironai Street Fromage"
- Samsung's "Good and Make"
- "Kuranami" by Donkey Confectionery
- Ryugetsu's "Sanpo Roku Subdivision"
I like this area.
However, Kurao and Mikata Roku are often placed in supermarkets nationwide, so their rarity is low.
If you want to give Hokkaido-like souvenirs, we recommend Hokkaido-only Apollo and Yubari Melon Pocky.
Recommended tourist facilities
Next, I would like to introduce two spots you should stop by at New Chitose Airport.
I feel that there are surprisingly few such original facilities at the airport in Japan.
Royce'Chocolate World (Domestic Terminal Building 3F)
Famous for chocolateLloydsIt is a facility operated by.
Admission is free and you can learn about the history of chocolate.
You can also see the chocolate making workshop and buy products at the shop.
Lloyds had the image of raw chocolate, but there were many cute animal-shaped chocolates.
There are Hello Kitty and Doraemon shops nearby, so it is a particularly recommended spot for families with children.
Snow Miku Sky Town (Domestic Terminal Building 4F)
Hatsune Miku, famous for Vokai Rod, was developed by a company in Hokkaido (Crypton Future Media).
Perhaps because of that, there is a museum about Hatsune Miku in the airport.
Admission is free here as well, so be sure to stop by.Only the video theater will be charged. (The quality of the video theater is ... no comment)
At the museum, the history of Hatsune Miku and illustrations and goods of Snow Miku (a character born to support Hokkaido) are exhibited.
The illustrator's signature colored paper with too much energy is also displayed.
There was also a memory board at the entrance, and the fans were drawing illustrations.
This is an illustration that I personally care about.
"Being tied up" means getting cold severely.
Recommended gourmet
Hokkaido Ramen Dojo (Domestic Terminal Building 3F)
Finally, I would like to introduce some recommended gourmet foods.
"Hokkaido Ramen Dojo" has about 10 famous ramen shops. (3 stores have already eaten)
The turnover of customers is fast, so it is ideal for dining at the airport.
Ebisoba Ichigen
Especially recommended is Ebisoba Ichigen Ramen.
The intense flavor of shrimp will fill your unforgettable memories.
You can choose from several types of soup, but the "as is" "miso" is the standard.
It's a very popular shop where people line up even before it opens, so be careful about the departure time of the plane.
I think it will be lined up for more than an hour at peak times and 30 minutes at other times.
(Business hours are from 10:00 to 21:00, so it is recommended to visit in the morning. When I went, I was able to sit in line for the first round 15 minutes before the store opened.)
Matsuo Genghis Khan (Domestic Terminal XNUMXF Food Court)
From the food court, which makes me happy when I don't have time, it's Matsuo Genghis Khan.
I visited four famous Genghis Khan restaurants in Hokkaido, and it made me think, "This is all right."
The meat is tender and the flavor of the vegetables is maximized.
Anyway, let's order a special lamb set meal (about 1380 yen).
Kinotoya (Domestic Terminal Building 2F)
(The photo is from the Sapporo store)
When you come to Hokkaido, let's eat "Kinotoya" cheese tart and go home.
You can buy one from 1 yen, and you can only eat it in Hokkaido.
Be careful not to get your hands or clothes dirty as the cream will overflow from the inside.
Finally
New Chitose Airport is my favorite airport in Japan because it has many facilities and delicious restaurants that are typical of Hokkaido.
Since it's a big deal, we recommend that you take some time to go around instead of passing through.
The airport is not that big, so you should be able to enjoy it in a couple of hours including meals.
